Walt Wager - Wood Art
Sculptures
Sometimes I'll use the lathe to create an object that isn't a bowl, platter, vase or any traditional turned form. I refer to these as wood sculptures. A sculpture might represent a bird, fish, other other creature, or may simply be a turned object that has no utilitarian purpose, but is simply something to look at.

Modeled after Trent Bosh's Vessels of Illusion, this sculpture looks like a seed pod about to break open, outter vessel is hickory, inner vessel walnut. Approximate size 6" x 6". NFS
Turned from a 30 year old ebony log, this sculpture brings to mind the creation of the earth from elements floating in space. Titled "Genesis". Commissioned piece, NFS
